The new MNM proposal describes the ambition of a politically neutral, international network. MNM wants to connect people and organizations around access to nature, fertile land, affordable food, human rights and fair cooperation.
Food security as a shared issue
In conversations about food, we want to pay attention to production and the conditions in which people can obtain food. The four dimensions from the FAO framework help to look beyond harvest figures. [7] Local experiences, costs and the division of responsibilities are part of the conversation.
Politically neutral cooperation
MNM wants to seek cooperation around concrete goals, with room for different political and philosophical beliefs. In this proposal, neutrality means that support for a party or ideology is not a condition for participation. Positions and possible interests are explained openly.
Building an international network
The long-term ambition is cooperation between MNM initiatives and nature organizations in different countries. Knowledge exchange and mutual visibility can be a start for this. Names of departments, partners or government associates will not be published until their involvement has been confirmed.
Listen and be accountable
Residents, growers, managers, researchers and administrators may have different needs. MNM wants to take those differences seriously. When making proposals, we want to make it clear what the goal is, what consequences are expected and what questions are open.
Growth through demonstrable work
We want to build trust by starting small, sharing results and limitations and improving the approach. Collaboration should be based on clear agreements and free participation.
