Education
Learning with attention to yourself, each other and nature.
MNM wants to bring nature closer to everyday life by discovering, asking and doing together. We want to develop educational activities in which wonder and practical knowledge complement each other, for children and adults.
Learning outside
We are thinking of activities in which participants get to know a place: what grows there, how is the land used and what questions does that raise? Walking, observing, drawing and comparing experiences can be part of such a program. The content is tailored to age, location and guidance.
From land to food security
We want participants to investigate where food comes from, what cultivation requires and how a harvest reaches people. Soil, water, seasons, nutrition and costs can be part of an activity. We use food security as a broader concept than production alone. [7]
Making research understandable
The figures on our website are provided with a source and explanation. We want to show the difference between a measurement, a model, a future scenario and an opinion. This allows participants to compare information and ask questions independently. Learning objectives, content and responsibilities are discussed in advance with schools and supervisors.
Stories and animation
Stories can invite wonder and conversation about responsibility and connection. The basic plans mention a children's version or animation inspired by The Ringing Cedars. This remains a concept. Before an adaptation of existing work, agreements regarding use and permission must first be made. Own stories about nature and cooperation are also an option.
Developing materials together
MNM wants to learn from people who have experience with education, outdoor activities, illustration or creating stories. We prefer to start with a small, carefully developed part rather than with a program whose implementation has not yet been determined.
